Don’t Blame the Quants | Financial Services Industry Blog | BNET.

First time I’ve ever come across this word – “Quant” – to be pronounced as if you were about to say quantity.

Meaning: “A quantitative analyst; someone who does numerical analysis of financial information in order to detect relationships, disparities, or patterns that can lead to making money.”

(Google: define:Quant )

I wonder if this is yet another example of an addition to the English language – like the recent verb “google.” (I googled you last night. You should google x and see what you find.)

Now were’re seeing “Don’t blame the quants for today’s economic trials.” Interesting.
